Contrary to hard phone the softphone is not physically available. It is software that is installed on the computer and simulates the functionality of a classic telephone. A headset connected to the computer replaces the usual telephone handset. Softphones are often extensive CTI functions and thus offer added value compared to classic hardphone devices.
