The stream of data when uploading, i.e. sending data over the Internet from your own computer to a remote server or storage space, is referred to as upstream. the data transfer rate for upstream depends on the type of Internet access (ADSL, SDSL, HDSL, VDSL, etc.) and the associated data transmission rate.
The counterpart to upstream is downstream.
